With the objective to document the ongoing successful Measles-Rubella MRV Campaign in East Siang district, a media team from New Delhi and UNICEF North-east is in the district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The team interacted with the health authorities, beneficiaries and stakeholders besides visiting rural areas and schools to know and highlight how East Siang district and Arunachal Pradesh in general is carrying out Measles-Rubella (MRV) Campaign successfully.

Interacting with the visiting media persons, District Medical Officer (DMO), Dr M Perme, credited the positive and successful MRV month-long campaign, which is now implementing the last sweeping activity round, to adherence to timeline, strict implementation as per micro plan, sustained awareness campaigns at block levels, dedicated team of health workers, excellent inter sectoral coordination and support from stakeholders like the district administration, authorities of education and ICDS , PRIs, councillors, religious leaders, market associations, NGOs, AIR, media and constant supervision of Siang Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman, District Health Society, East Siang, Tamiyo Tatak.
Preparatory works had begun from November when all the schools, community centres, anganwadi centres were identified as vaccination centres.
The MRV Campaign for the district was launched by the local MLA and Parliamentary Secretary, Disaster Management, government of Arunachal Pradesh, Kaling Moyongat at the Government I G J Higher Secondary School, Pasighat on February 1, the DMO informed.

The implementation of the programme is under constant and strict monitoring of the State Government and the Chief Secretary to the State Government who is also the chairman of State Steering cum Monitoring Committee.
The DMO further said the positive response to awareness campaigns and awareness level of the general public also helped in carrying out the MRV immunization programme.
Children from nine months up to 15 years are the target group who are to be vaccinated as under MRV Campaign.
The team also visited Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pasighat, covered under Upper Public Health Centre (UPHC), Pasighat to witness a vaccination session under sweeping activity.
The team will also visit Papumpare district.
