NITI Aayog’s Sampoornata Abhiyan launched in Chandel district.

Imphal: Chandel Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Raj Kumar on Thursday launched the Sampoornata Abhiyan at Multipurpose Hall, Mini Secretariat in Chandel District Headquarter of Manipur.

This is the first major step for launching the programme in the border area of Manipur state of India.

The launch event was organised by District Administration Chandel, under the initiative of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, Government of India.

Sampoornata Abhiyan started by NITI Aayog is a nationwide campaign launched with a focus on attaining saturation in 12 key social sector indicators in 500 aspirational blocks and 112 aspirational districts.

As a part of the programme, the Soil Health Cards were also distributed to ten farmers, by the DC as part of the programme.

Screening for diabetes and hypertension, soil testing, the opening of the ICDS counter, and the Sampoornata pledge led by the DC were the other main highlights of the function.

Speaking at the function, Chandel Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Raj Kumar said that the idea of Sampoornata Abhiyan is to saturate the five specified indicators on the themes such as Health, Nutrition, Social Welfare, Education and Agriculture within three months, from July 4 to September 30, 2024, through action plan systematically.

The DC stated that Sampoornata Abhiyan mainly focuses on achievement through systematic services with a mission mode priority on the already five given indicators.

The Chandel Deputy Commissioner appeals to all the District Level Officers under Chandel District Administration (DLOs) to work sincerely with dedication to achieve the said goal within the three-month time and urge them to come forward for further discussion regarding any challenges they face.

He further appealed to the Health and ICDS staff of the Chandel District to work in close coordination for the proper implementation of the pregnant women supplementary nutrition programme and urge all the District Administration officials present at the function to prepare a proper task for the smooth implementation of Sampoornata Abhiyan.

Chandrakumar Singh were the members during the launching event.
