A 76-year-old man with travel history to Iran died in Ladakh and initial investigation says the person showed symptoms of coronavirus infection.
The deceased, a former policeman, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after he was diagnosed with suspected coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms, Ladakh administration informed.
“We are waiting for the final investigation report. Only after the arrival of the final report, we can officially confirm it,” the officials said.
Taking precautionary measures, Ladakh administration has isolated the village from which the deceased came from.
Ladakh health department officials, however, said that the deceased had an infection of the urinary tract that led to his death.
“We are not taking any chances and to be sure he was not infected with coronavirus, we will wait for the final tests report,” the officials added.
