A free general health check-up camp was organized at Don Bosco High School in Hojai on Friday, to commemorate World Health Day, observed on April 7 every year.

The camp was organized in collaboration with Mercy Hospital, Nagaon for the entire school staff, students and their parents.

A four member team consisting of a doctor and three nurse which included Dr. Supriyam Das (Physician), Sister Shiny, Sister Lima and Sister Helena conducted the tests, provided consultation for general ailments and prescribed medicines for the same.

The camp was inaugurated by Principal of the School Father Michael Bistis in the presence of the Team from Mercy Hospital, School Staff and Students at 9 in the morning.

Talking to NorthEast Now Correspondent, Dr. Supriyam Das, said, “We are indeed happy being a part of this healthy initiative by the school. It is our health that is the real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.  I thank Father Michael Bistis, the school staff and students for making this selfless event possible.”

Sister Lima, Nurse, Mercy Hospital said, “Every year we organize 7 to 8 camps in the remote areas, our objective is to reach to each section of the society. And we provide free medicine’s in each of the camps organized.” She added.

Father Michael Bistis, Principal Don Bosco High School, Hojai said, “This year the theme of the day was “Health For All”. So, we decided to do something healthy so that society can avail the benefits, because healthy life is a blessing of God. To keep the body healthy is our responsibility.”

The camp concluded at 1:00 PM. Hundred’s of school students along with their parents participated in the camp.
