Arunachal Pradesh health minister Alo Libang on Saturday said the government is facing problems in utilising human resources in many general and district hospitals of the state.

Libang, who visited the Aalo general hospital in West Siang district on the day, said the government is trying to rationalise the transfer and posting of doctors in the state to mitigate the urgent needs in many places.

“Many doctors are placed under various programmes leading to a shortfall in services of doctors,” he said, insisting such doctors also provide services beyond their assigned duties.

The minister further said the opening of primary and community health centres and sub-centres should be discouraged in areas where they are not feasible and not need-based.

“Human health is of paramount importance in the process of development,” he said, urging the doctors and medical staff to do their best in health delivery services.

Libang appreciated the West Siang district administration, district medical officer Dr Moli Riba and his team and the civil society for waging a cohesive war against the Covid-19 pandemic and now working hard in administering the Covid19 vaccine phase-wise.

He assured to provide a Yono Healthcare ATM as a part of modernising the hospital equipment.

Aalo East legislator Kento Jini said the provision for modern infrastructure and equipment at Aalo general hospital had been his pre-election agenda and stressed on establishing two dialysis units there.

He appealed to the doctors to inculcate a friendly atmosphere and maintain duty schedules to give constant service to the people of the district.

Giving the overall status of functioning and various programmes of the general hospital, Dr Riba placed a three-point memorandum pertaining to the posting of six GDMOs, creation of training cum conference hall and establishment of a CT scan building.

The team later also visited the ICU, maternity ward, male and female wards, operation theatre, X-ray and emergency rooms of the hospital.

Among others, West Siang deputy commissioner Moki Loyi and other officers accompanied the minister on the day.
