Delhi’s Shram Shakti Bhawan was sealed on Sunday after an employee working in the Ministry of Power tested positive for COVID-19.
The Ministry of Power has an office in the Shram Shakti Bhawan building that has now been sealed as per protocols.
The entire office premises are being sanitized thoroughly.
All the employees have been advised to work from home till further orders.
Moreover, the people who had come in contact with the employee, who had been tested positive for coronavirus, had been asked to quarantine themselves at home.
Some of the central government offices had to be sealed recently after employees working there tested positive for COVID-19.
On May 5, a floor of the Shastri Bhavan, a government building that houses several ministries was partially sealed after an employee working in the law ministry tested positive for COVID-19.
The CRPF headquarters in New Delhi had been recently sealed after a bus driver of the paramilitary force tested positive for coronavirus.
Last month, the Niti Aayog building was also sealed after an employee working there tested positive for COVID-19.
Before NitiAayog, Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, which houses the Civil Aviation Ministry, was also sealed for sanitisation after a positive case of coronavirus was detected.
The total number of coronavirus cases in India surged to 67152 on Monday.
The death toll due to coronavirus in the country is 2206 so far and the number of active cases is 44029.
