Assam has registered 13 more new COVID19 positive cases on Monday night taking the total to 539.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet said the new positive cases are from Kamrup Metro and Golaghat districts.

Health minister Sarma said while 7 of the infected patients are from Kamrup Metro district, 6 other patients are from the Golaghat district.
“Alert ~ 13 new cases of #COVID19+ reported. Swabs for testing taken before people sent for quarantine. 7 Kamrup Metro, 6 Golaghat,” health minister Sarma tweeted at 10.10 pm on Monday.
With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam has increased to 470.

Earlier, a total of 62 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their complete recovery from the disease.
On Monday, five patients were discharged after they tested negative for COVID19 twice.
While three patients were discharged from hospital in Guwahati, two patients were discharged from the Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) after their recovery.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons so far in Assam while 3 cases migrated from the state.
“Total cases 539. Recovered 62. Active cases 470. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” Sarma added.
According to the John Hopkins University data, India has entered the list of 10 countries worst hit by COVID19 after record spike in the number of cases for 4 consecutive days, affecting over 1.38 lakh people, surpassing Iran.
India registered 154 deaths and a record jump of 6,977 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 1,38,845 and death toll to 4,021 on Monday.
