COVID19 Assam update

On the day when the number of total COVID19 cases registered in Assam has risen to 1,877, a total of 29 persons, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from various hospitals across the state on Thursday.

Sharing the good news through his Twitter handle, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the patients have been discharged after they tested negative for COVID19 twice.

The health minister informed that while 14 COVID19 patients have been discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at Panbazar in Guwahati, 5 other patients have been discharged from Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barpeta.

A total of 4 COVID19 patients have been discharged from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH), 3 patients have been discharged from the Golaghat Civil Hospital, 1 patient has been discharged from Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) and 2 others have been discharged from the Dhemaji Civil Hospital.

With the discharge of 29 more patients, the total number of discharged COVID19 patients discharged from hospitals in Assam now stands at 442.

Out of the total number of COVID19 positive cases, registered in Assam so far, the state currently has 1,428 active cases.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated from the state.
