Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said the 299 people from the State who had attended the Tabliqi Jamaat from March 13 to 15 at Nizamuddin in New Delhi, have been identified.
Sarma directed all the districts of Assam to find out whereabouts of the people who had attended the religious congregation from March 13 to 15 in New Delhi.

The district administrations have been asked to immediately quarantine all of them if they have returned to Assam.
He tweeted, “Assam Govt is now in possession of a list of 299 persons who were present in and around the hotspot near Nizamuddin Dargah. We’ve alerted dist admins to find out if these people have returned to Assam, and strict instructions issued to quarantine them if they are in the state.”
In addition to 299 people from Assam, five people from Meghalaya had also reportedly attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddin in New Delhi.

Sarma also requested the people who have attended the religious congregation to immediately report to the nearest government hospital or call Helpline no 104.
“Urgent Request If there is anyone from Assam who attended the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, please IMMEDIATELY report voluntarily to the nearest government hospital or by calling Helpline no # 104. Please treat this as very important,” he added.
A number of people from other states who had attended the religious event at Nizamuddin have tested positive for coronavirus.
Fortunately, no positive cases of coronavirus were reported among those attending the religious event from Assam has been detected till now.
Meanwhile, Assam chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna has appealed to the people of the State who are stranded in different states to remain where they are during the lock down period.
Necessary arrangement for food, accommodation and other amenities being ensured in consultation with Government and local administration of respective states.
