However, the second test report is awaited.
A 23-year-old from Imphal (west) has been identified as the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in the State.

With a travel history to UK, the person is being treated at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal (JNIMS).
Meanwhile, the state Health department and deputy chief minister Y Joykumar Singh have confirmed the case.
Joykumar was quoted as saying that one case has been depicted as positive.
“So, now we are taking the possible precautions that are necessary,” he said.
The victim had flown to Imphal via Calcutta and Agartala.
Now authorities have an uphill task to trace who were her co-passengers in that flight.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 10 on Tuesday with nearly 500 confirmed cases of the infection.

As many as 370,000 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in 168 countries/regions across the globe.

Inter-state bus services, passenger trains, and metro services remain suspended till March 31.
In addition domestic flights will be grounded starting Wednesday.
