The Chief Minister’s Free Diagnostic Service scheme was launched by Meghanjoy Thousen, Secretary, Health Department of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) at Haflong Civil Hospital in Dima Hasao on Thursday.

Dr Dipali Barman, Joint Director of the Health and Family Welfare and Dr Kalpana Kemprai, Superintendent of Haflong Civil Hospital, Dima Hasao were present in the programme.

The common people of Dima Hasao district can now avail 50 different medical tests for free of cost under the scheme.

Addressing a gathering at the event, Thousen said, “The poor people of Dima Hasao district will now be benefitted more by the scheme. They had to spend lots of money for the medical tests earlier.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kalpana Kemprai said, “The CT scan test was provided free of cost to the people earlier, but now onwards, people of the district can avail of 50 different medical tests for free of cost under the Chief Minister’s Free Diagnostic Service scheme.”

The authority of the tests under the scheme was given to the HINDLABS Diagnostic Centre.
