The Health and Sports departments of Manipur jointly launched the ‘Ayush Sports Medicine’ during a colourful function in Imphal on Tuesday.
Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh along with Youth Affairs & Sports Minister Letpao Haokip attended the formal launching function at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium in Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister Jayantakumar said time has come for integrated effort of selective departments for an augmented venture.
Giving advice to the players to know and understand Ayush and its importance, he said that there are many sports disciplines in which mind concentration is very much required.
In this regard, yoga may be mentioned as a method to train and enhance mind power, he said.
He also assured that all possible steps will be taken up for the welfare of the players of the State.
In his address, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip said Ayush medicine has no side effect.
Players need to have proper education to have a more formal and advanced career. Sports also provide an opportunity to get jobs, he added.
Expressing concern over the disputes between the sports associations and the officials, he appealed to the players to play their game with sincerity and dedication and should not bother about other things.
Around 1,200 Ayush Sports Medicine kits were also distributed to the players in the day’s launching function which was attended by Director of Youth Affairs and Sports, N Pravin Singh; Director AYUSH, Dr A Guneshwor Sharma; Director, Health & Family Welfare, Dr K Rajo Singh and Additional Director of Ayush, Y Lukhoi Singh.
The teaching and non-teaching staffs and students of the National Sports Academy, Imphal, officials of the sports and Ayush departments were also present on the occasion.
