The places which were sanitized are SOS Children’s Village, Harijan Colony, Shantiban, Police Station, Eidgha amog others.
The department used a mist spray machine for sanitization and sprayed disinfectants as part of the deep cleaning.
According to Amal Chandra Bhagwati, executive engineer, PHE,”Sanitization is one of the important aspects to keep our surroundings clean and hygienic.”

“The department will carry out a number of drives in other places of the town within these days,”Bhagwati said.
On the other hand, responding to the call made by state health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, the teachers of Hojai Girls’ College extended essential commodities and cash to the poor and needy people.
They helped at least ten families in their respective localities.
Apart from this, in a noble gesture, the teaching and non teaching staff of Hojai Girl’s College donated their one day salary to Chief Minister Relief Fund to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Hojai Police led by officer in charge Gautam Kumar distributed essential commodities among the needy people on Wednesday.
Volunteers of Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) jointly distributed essential commodities among 1000 underprivileged families in Hojai during the last three days.
A social worker cum special trainer Jayanto Chaudhary distributed 30 packets of essential commodities among the families of differently abled ones along with the support of Hojai Police.
