Assam has registered 7 more COVID19 positive cases on Thursday taking the state’s total to 210.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the infected patients are from the zonal quarantine centre at Tezpur University campus.
“Alert ~ 7 persons at Zonal Quarantine Centre at Tezpur Univ test #COVID19 +”, tweeted health minister Sarma at 10 pm on Thursday.
The health minister also said while 5 patients are from Sonitpur district, 2 others patients are from Lakhimpur district.
“5 are from Sonitpur, 2 from Lakhimpur,” Sarma tweeted.
With the new COVID19 positive cases registered in Assam, the number of active cases has increased to 149.
Earlier, a total of 54 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the state after their recovery.
On Thursday a total of 6 patients were discharged from two hospitals in the state after their samples tested negative for COVID19 twice.
While 2 persons were discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) at panbazar in Guwahati, four others were discharged from the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) in Cachar district.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated from the state.
