To provide counselling to people suffering from depression or anxiety due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Assam Police has launched six tele-counselling helplines on Tuesday.

The helplines have been launched in association with the psychiatry department of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), clinical psychologists and psychiatric social workers.

The helplines which will be operational from 9 am to 3 pm are 6026901053, 6026901054 and 6026901055.

After contacting these helplines, one can get necessary counselling and advice from a mental health professional.

To refresh the minds of COVID-19 patients, a yoga therapy session was conducted at Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati on Sunday.

The yoga session was conducted by a yoga expert through videoconferencing.

During a telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump on Saturday, Modi touched upon the significance of practices such as Yoga and Ayurveda for ensuring physical and mental well-being of the people in these difficult times.

Yoga is one of the best ways of keeping oneself fit as well as a de-stressing method which can have multiple health benefit.

Meanwile, the total number of coronavirus cases in Assam has increased to 27 on Tuesday.
