The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam is increasing with every passing hour.
A total of 479 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected late Thursday.
Out of these, 238 cases were reported from Guwahati alone.
This was informed by state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through his official Twitter handle on Thursday night.
Sarma tweeted:
‘Alert ~ 479 new #COVID19+ cases detected today. Out of these, 238 cases were reported from Guwahati City alone.
Request people to take proper precautions.
Total cases 9434
Recovered 6106
Active cases 3311
Deaths 14

With these new cases the total number of COVID-29 patients in the State has gone up to 9434.
However, 6106 persons have completely recovered from the lethal coronavirus and were discharged from hospitals across the State.
At present there are 3311 active cases in the State.
The State has witnessed 14 COVID-19 related deaths so far with two more deaths reported on Thursday.
