Tripura has registered four more new COVID19 positive cases on Monday taking the state’s total to 196.
Confirming this, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a tweet on the state’s latest COVID19 status said 990 samples were tested in the state on Monday, out of which 4 persons tested positive for the virus.

Chief minister Deb informed that all the infected patients are returnees from Mumbai by train.
“990 samples have been tested today in #Tripura for COVID-19. Among them 4 persons found COVID19 #POSITIVE. All of them have returned from Mumbai, #Maharashtra by train,” chief minister Deb tweeted at 10.16 pm on Monday.
On Sunday, Tripura registered 3 COVID19 positive cases taking the state total to 192.

Chief minister deb had informed that 991 samples were tested on Sunday, out of which 3 samples were found COVID19 positive.
The infected patients were returnees from Delhi who came by Rajdhani Express.
On Saturday, 16 people tested COVID19 positive in Tripura, all of whom returned from Mumbai to Agartala.
Tripura registered its first COVID19 positive case in the first week of April.
After the recovery of the first two positive cases, Tripura was declared a Corona-free state, but after detection of COVID19 positive cases from BSF camps, the state again lost its Corona-free status.
Tripura has registered the second highest number of COVID19 positive cases in Northeast India after Assam.
Till filing of this report, Assam has registered a total of 539 positive cases.
According to the John Hopkins University data, India has entered the list of 10 countries worst hit by COVID19 after record spike in the number of cases for 4 consecutive days, affecting over 1.38 lakh people, surpassing Iran.
India registered 154 deaths and a record jump of 6,977 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 1,38,845 and death toll to 4,021 on Monday.
