Guwahati : Assam Congress Chief Bhupen Borah on Friday recalled his nostalgic political career on the occasion of the foundation day of Indian Youth Congress.

He claimed that his formative years in the Congress taught him the value of dedication, teamwork, and also of selfless service.

Borah, in a post on X, claimed that he will continue to champion the causes  dear to the Indian Youth Congress.

“Today, we celebrate the founding of the Indian Youth Congress, a shining beacon of hope and vibrant energy for India’s young minds! Since its inception, the IYC has been a powerful catalyst for empowering young voices, fostering leadership, and shaping the nation’s future,” he wrote

“With unwavering commitment to democracy, equality, and social justice, the IYC has been a torchbearer for positive change.

“As I reflect on my own journey, I am filled with pride and nostalgia, having served as the President of the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) in Assam from 1996-98. Those formative years taught me the value of dedication, teamwork, and selfless service.

“ I am honored to have been a part of this legacy and will continue to champion the causes that IYC holds dear. Here’s to many more years of inspiring and empowering India’s youth!” he added

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi also extended greetings to IYC on the occasion of its foundation day.

Your efforts are crucial in uniting India’s youth against injustice and inequality, while upholding the core values of the Congress party.
