Guwahati: Two men were arrested for allegedly being involved with drug peddling in Guwahati, Assam on Wednesday.
As per reports, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Assam Police along with officials of the Hatigaon Police Station based on inputs initiated an operation.
A raid was conducted in the Dakhingaon area of Guwahati, Assam leading to two men.
The two identified as Babidul Haque (26) and Nur Mohammad (24) were found to have been dealing with suspected heroin.
Around 12.5 grams of heroin concealed in a soapbox were found from them.
Cash amounting to Rs 30,200, two mobile phones and a motorcycle were seized from them.
Both of them were residents of Barpeta district but were residing in Hatigaon where they allegedly were involved in the illicit drug trade.
An investigation is being carried out to further trace their accomplices.
