Tripura Assam: NRL officials arrested for elephant death cover-up

Guwahati: The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police apprehended two men from Uttar Pradesh in Guwahati on Monday for possessing fake gold items.

The raid, conducted at Accounts Colony Road near Nilachal flyover in Maligaon, was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs.

During the raid, officials seized a counterfeit gold boat-shaped item weighing 1.365 grams, cash worth Rs 4,700, and a hacksaw blade.

The two accused, identified as Ahamad (28) from Banaras district and Rahis Ahamad (40) from Chandauli district, were taken into custody and are being processed for further legal action.
