Guwahati: A huge portion of the ceiling outside the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, Assam collapsed on Sunday during a storm and heavy rainfall.
However, there were no injuries were reported in the incident.

The sudden storm as well as the collapse disrupted airport operations, prompting airport authorities to briefly halt activities and divert at least six flights to other destinations.
Videos circulating on social media captured the dramatic moment the ceiling caved in, causing passengers and staff to scramble for cover. Other footage showed airport personnel clearing excess water from the affected areas.

According to reports, the storm also uprooted a large tree outside the airport at the Oil India complex, blocking a nearby road.
Further, some business outlets were also affected by the rain as rain poured down on the counters.
