Assam: Car thieves nabbed by Guwahati Police from Meghalaya

Guwahati: A police team from Guwahati, Assam has nabbed several car thieves in connection with a series of grant theft auto in the state.

As per sources, two accused were first arrested in connection with a stolen pickup truck (a Mahindra Bolero Pickup).

The alleged thieves identified as Ajijul Ali and Jamirudin Ali were reported to have stolen the pickup vehicle from Bhangagarh in Guwahati.

However, the stolen vehicle had a GPS tracker and it helped the police track the vehicle.

The police said that the owner of the vehicle found out that his truck passed through a toll gate in Meghalaya.

On checking the GPS, he found out that the truck was heading towards Nongpoh.

He immediately rushed to the police and the vehicle was intercepted a little far from Nongpoh in Meghalaya.

After the vehicle was recovered the accused were nabbed.

After questioning them, the police also nabbed some more of their associates.

A source claimed that the gang is also suspected of being involved in stealing a vehicle that was attached to police duty.

However, details regarding this claim were not shared.

An investigation is being carried out in connection with the case.
