Guwahati: An auto-rickshaw driver was killed after his vehicle was run over by a city bus in Guwahati, Assam on Tuesday.
As per reports, the bus belonged to the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC).

The deceased was identified as Hitesh Kalita.

The bus which is an electric bus registered in December and launched with a massive fleet rammed into the auto-rickshaw in Khanapara.

The impact killed the auto driver immediately on the spot before any medical assistance could arrive.

Further, some others were also injured on the spot.
Locals present on the spot alleged that the ASTC bus bearing registration AS202558 was being driven by its conductor/helper and not the designated driver.
Further, it was found that the bus also has two unpaid fines for unauthorised parking and obstruction of traffic movement.
