Rural Auxiliary for People’s Action (RAPA) in collaboration with State AYUSH Society, Directorate of AYUSH, Manipur is organizing Rhizome festival. The purpose of this festival is to save the endangered, Rhizome – a medicinal plant of the state.
The festival is being organized under the sponsorship of MIDS, Horticulture and Soil Conservation. The festival will be held from January 17 -19 at Ningtam Ingkhol located at Tekcham Maning Ching in Thoubal district.

The stalls will display various indigenous and medicinal plants of the state. There will also be a discussion on the plants medicinal values. Cultural events, workshops, competitions will also be the added highlight of the festival. Various plants like Kanghu, Yai Amuba, Yai Angouba, Haa, Khutchappi, Tekhao Yaikhu, Uri, Moinambi, Pulei Manbi, Yaingang, Shing, Thambou, Mangra, Pan and Koukha are on the verge of extinction.
