Global Tiger Day celebrated at Namdapha National Park in Arunachal Pradesh.

Dibrugarh: Global Tiger Day is being celebrated at Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve at Miao in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday.

A mass rally on awareness of Tiger conservation was taken out by the students from Government Higher Secondary School Miao.

Under the scorching heat, students raised slogans like “Bagh hai to Jungle Hai,” “Jungle Hai to Insan hai”, and “Save Namdapha, Save Tiger” in the streets of Miao town.

Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve authority sincerely thank Sekhum Ronrang, Principal, GHSS, Miao and  Maithu Singpho, Head Mistress, GUPS Miao for their unconditional support in Tiger Conservation Activities.

“We also thank the local public of Miao especially Latgam Singpho for his encouraging words on the importance of the involvement of local communities, youth and children in wildlife conservation,” said an official.

In concluding remarks  V. K. Jawal, CF & Field Director of Namdapha National Park and Tiger Reserve has appreciated the students for the successful conduct of Rally.

He also appealed to everyone to take part in such activities that can aid in Tiger and wildlife conservation as whole.

Namdapha is the third largest national park in India, in terms of area (1,807.02 square km). It is located in the easternmost corner of Arunachal Pradesh.

Namdapha, being part of the India-Myanmar biodiversity hotspot, is supposedly the only park in the world to harbour four species of large cats tigers, snow leopards, clouded leopards and leopards.
