Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi has conveyed his greetings on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Prof Mukhi said, “World Environment Day is observed on June 5 every year to promote awareness on the importance of preserving our biodiversity, the need to identify problems related to the environment and ways to take corrective steps.”

The Governor said over the years, human activities have caused so much degradation which leads to disturbed ecosystem.

He also urged upon all to come together to stop any further damage to the planet and plant more and more saplings to increase the green coverage to make it more green and serene.
