The tourist entry opening function of the Kaziranga National Park was held at Mihimukh in Central Range on Friday.

Environment & Forest Minister Parimal Suklyabaidya, with other cabinet ministers and MLAs were present at the occasion.

Bijit Newar (R), son of late Ganesh Bahadur Newar, a casual staff of Kaziranga National Park received Ex-Gratia support of Rupees One Lakh by Wildlife Trust of India.

Ganesh Bahadur Newar died due to an accidental encounter with a wild elephant herd on duty in the park on August 6, 2018.

Environment and Forest Minister Parimal Suklyabaidya presented the cheque.

Assam cabinet ministers Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta, along with other MLAs, AD Baruah, Director Kaziranga National Park, Dr Rathin Barman Joint Director WTI along with Amitabha Choudhury and other dignitaries were present at the function.
