Moharana Choudhury from Guwahati, was awarded “India’s Great Leader’s Award-2018”.
He was honoured for his community focused work on environment in the northeastern region by motivating youths for Environmental Conservation activity for nation building works.
The young researcher cum environmentalist is working on several initiatives to integrate sustainable approaches in various heritage iconic places in Assam especially as, Kamakhya and Basistha Temple, on Cleanliness Mission, Beat Plastic Pollution, and Environmental Conservation programs by promoting environment education both in school and community levels.
He wants to achieve Global Sustainable Goal Mission and Climate Change challenges by proper environment education.
He is working on topics like environmental research, environmental management, social mass sensitization activities, promoting eco-tourism and environment conservation activities for Assam, and the country for a long time and has published several national, international scientific research papers/reports in reputed journals.
Choudhury, is associated with several non-profit organizations.
IGLA is an honorary award under India’s Great Leader’s Festival -2018 which is organized by National Human Welfare Council. IGLA is given to leaders of India who show the path of prosperity and who have inspired and done remarkable work in the field of Social Development, Education, Environment, Science & Technology, Entrepreneurship, Culture, Sports, and Literature.
Awardees from more than 20 states, 30 awardees from Education field and 30 Social activist from different areas like Social Development, Environment, Science & Technology, Entrepreneurship, Culture, Sports, and Literature of India were felicitated at Press Club of India, Raisina Road New Delhi on 21st October 2018, in presence of Chief Guest as Sh. Manish Sisodiya, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and other dignitaries.
