A dehorned, partially decomposed carcass of a female rhino has been recovered by the Kaziranga National Park forest personnel at Kaoimari forest camp under Bagori forest range of the national park in Bokakhat sub-division under Golaghat district on Wednesday evening.

According to forest officials, the rhino was killed by poachers on Monday last.

As per reports, the forest personnel during an operation on June 11, a fierce gun battle took place between the forest guards and poachers at Bagori range and on Wednesday, the forest personnel recovered the carcass of the female rhino.

The forest officials also recovered a screw driver from the spot.
