Deb Medhekar’s Bioscopewala starring Danny Denzongpa, Geetanjali Thapa, Tisca Chopra and Adil Hussain is all set to release on May 25.

The film is a modern-day adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s 1892 short story Kabuliwala.

In Bioscopewala, Mini Basu (Geetanjali Thapa) tries to reconnect with her childhood memories after her father’s death in a plane crash.

In the process, she is reminded of her dead father’s old friend (Denzongpa), who operated a bioscope show that she loved as a child.

In this regard, Mimi attempts to find the whereabouts of the bioscopewala’s daughter in war-torn Afghanistan. “I’ll put every waking moment trying to find out what happened to the man who is such an important part of my life,” Mini announces in the recently released trailer of the film.

Several actors from Northeast like Danny Denzongpa, Geetanjali Thapa from Sikkim and Adil Hussain from Assam star in the film.

Rabindranath Tagore’s Kabuliwala tells the story of a Pashtun dry fruit merchant who befriends a five-year-old girl in Kolkata because she reminds him of his own daughter living in Kabul.
