Dimapur: In a bid to promote Naga short filmmakers, Nagaland’s Mon district administration will organise a two-day ‘1st Mon Film Festival’ from December 18.

Addressing a press conference in Dimapur on Tuesday, actor Atae Konyak said the films, which can be of any language, should be based on entertainment, environment and social issues.

The maximum duration of each film should be 10 minutes.

Konyak said the awards would be given in the categories of best film (overall), best screenplay, best director, best actor, best actress, best cinematography and best editing.

He added that the winners will receive cash prizes, trophies, and certificates issued by the district administration.

Konyak invited filmmakers, videographers, and creating minds of the state to submit their films for nomination in various categories for the best awards by December 15.

On the highlights of the festival to be held at the Mon local ground, Konyak said there would be electrifying entertainment performances, special appearances by renowned celebrities from outside the state and screening of exceptional films and videos.

Karbi film actor from Karbi Anglong district of Assam actor Crosswell Timung, who also acted in a few Bollywood films and actor, director and producer Neangbah Konyak were also present at the press conference.
