Mukha amateur theatre group from Barpeta is organizing Bishnu-Jyoti Theatre Festival from January 23. The fourth edition of the festival will take place at the District Library Auditorium in Guwahati. The theatre festival will be held for four days.
Noted actress Urmila Mahanta will inaugurate the festival on the opening day. Theatre group Ba Guwahati will perform the play Padmapriya after the inauguration and Jeevan Anamika, another play by Kathia Duliajan will be staged the same day later.
Theatre lovers will also get to watch other plays by different theatre groups from all over the state. Natmandal Pathshala will perform Senapati aur Sainik and Takshashila will be staged by Mancha Sarupetia on January 24.
Anushilan and Wings will perform on January 25, the third day of the festival.
The final day of the festival will see performance of the play Bhograja by Mukha. The performances are slated to begin at 5:30 every day.
