Mizoram is all set to host the Indian Film Festival from January 23 as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
The mega event jointly organised by the Mizoram Government and Innovations India Advertising and Events Pvt Ltd will be held in Aizawl from January 23-25. This was announced at a press conference in Aizawl on Wednesday.

Talking to media the at Aizawl Press Club here, the managing director of Innovation and Curator of IFF Mizoram, Captain Rahul Bali said the mega event which is the first of its kind in Mizoram will be inaugurated by Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on January 23 at the State’s largest auditorium, Vanapa Hall.
The event will witness the presence of a number of acclaimed film makers from across the country and the world.
A star-studded inaugural function will also be attended by dignitaries and luminaries from across India and the world, he added.

While expressing happiness over the event, Rahul Bali said it was a matter of great pride and honour for him and his entire team at Innovation India to curate the first ever Indian Film Festival Mizoram.
He also said Mizoram is a beautiful state that has largely remained unexplored till now as far as the world of films and cinema are concerned and in fact Mizoram has a lot to offer to the film makers.
He also lauded the initiative of the Mizoram Government to make the Indian Film Festival Mizoram an annual event.
The event will feature a rich mixture of programmes designed to build and support the growing interest of the Indian film industry in Mizoram that will go a long way in achieving the goal of making Mizoram a preferred destination for both leisure and business.
Mizoram Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation Minister, Zodintluanga, who was present at the press meet also said the first ever Indian Film festival in Mizoram is sure to create a buzz about Mizoram and will act as a brilliant platform for the Indian as well as the iternational film makers who are interested in reaching out to a crossover audience in Mizoram thereby bringing in a lot of visibility and publicity for the State.
