Guwahati: Ha Lyngkha Bneng (The Elysian Field), Meghalaya’s latest feature film by filmmaker Pradip Kurbah, premiered recently at the Kelvin Gold Cinema Hall in Guwahati.
The film, supported by Hello Meghalaya, the state’s OTT platform and creative incubator, explores themes of identity, resilience, and belonging, set against the emotional and cultural landscape of Meghalaya.
Directed by Pradip Kurbah, Ha Lyngkha Bneng is told from an authentic Khasi perspective, reflecting the director’s continued engagement with locally rooted storytelling.
The narrative follows the intertwined journeys of six individuals in a quiet rural setting, tracing their aspirations, relationships, and shared experiences. Through an intimate, character-driven approach, the film offers a reflective portrayal of everyday life while maintaining a strong sense of cultural specificity and realism.

The Guwahati premiere marked a successful epilogue to the film’s international festival run in 2025. Previously, Ha Lyngkha Bneng won the Best Film, Best Director, and NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at the 47th Moscow International Film Festival in 2025.
It was subsequently screened at the 31st Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) and the 30th International Film Festival of Kerala in 2025, and the 24th Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) in 2026.
The Guwahati premiere and exclusive screening was attended by members of the Meghalaya film community, along with filmmakers, journalists, and cultural representatives from across the Northeast, including the cast and crew of the film, as well as Patricia Mukhim, Parthajit Baruah, Jatin Bora, Zerifa Wahid, and Manju Borah.

Hello Meghalaya, regarded as Meghalaya’s pioneering content showcase platform, supports the region’s rich cultural heritage and promotes regional voices by providing financial, promotional, and infrastructural backing to creators.
As part of this initiative, Hello Meghalaya will also share select highlights from the premiere of Ha Lyngkha Bneng, including behind-the-scenes moments and conversations with the filmmakers, through its official social media channels.
