Fans of superstar Amitabh Bachchan in Northeast are worried a lot as the news of him falling ill on the sets of his upcoming film Thugs of Hindostan spread like wildfire.
A team of doctors have been rushed from Mumbai in a chartered plane to tend to the actor in Jodhpur. The 75-year-old actor was in the city to finish shooting for his role in YRF’s ambitious project co-starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Sheikh.
Doctors have assured that the superstar’s condition is stable. On Tuesday morning, the actor took to his blog to discuss his health issues which sparked concerns.
He wrote, “I am getting my team of Doctors in tomorrow morning to fiddle around with my body and set me up again… I will rest and keep informed in the process.”
He also wrote about the grueling shoot schedule of the Vijay Krishna Acharya-directed film, which also features Aamir Khan.
Thugs of Hindostan is an adaptation of the 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug.
Talking to Northeast Now, Manish Agarwal, a fan of the actor said, “I pray for his early recovery. When I heard the news of his ill health, it reminded me of his fatal accident in Coolie, when everyone thought he would die. I hope he gets well soon.”
In the past, actor Amitabh Bachchan was critically injured while shooting for the film Coolie. A mistimed jump in a fight scene with co-star Puneet Isaar made him hit the corner of a table, instead of landing on top of it as he was meant to.
This resulted in an internal abdominal injury. He was transferred to a Mumbai hospital, where he went into a haze and coma-like situation, and was clinically dead for a couple of minutes.
Fans from all over the country prayed for the actor and he made a miraculous recovery from the accident. A lot of people termed that as his ‘rebirth’.
