Thugs of Hindostan is an adaptation of the 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug.

Talking to Northeast Now, Manish Agarwal, a fan of the actor said, โ€œI pray for his early recovery. When I heard the news of his ill health, it reminded me of his fatal accident in Coolie, when everyone thought he would die. I hope he gets well soon.โ€

In the past, actor Amitabh Bachchan was critically injured while shooting for the film Coolie. A mistimed jump in a fight scene with co-star Puneet Isaar made him hit the corner of a table, instead of landing on top of it as he was meant to.

This resulted in an internal abdominal injury. He was transferred to a Mumbai hospital, where he went into a haze and coma-like situation, and was clinically dead for a couple of minutes.

Fans from all over the country prayed for the actor and he made a miraculous recovery from the accident. A lot of people termed that as his โ€˜rebirthโ€™.
