Curtains came down on the fourth edition of NH7 Weekender Shillong on Saturday.

Also known as the happiest music festival, it is one of the most anticipated music festival of India.

The closing night saw performances from Bollywood composer Shankar Mahadevan (who performed his set My Country, My Music) and carnatic classical musician TM Krishna, rock-electronica act Pentagram and veteran rockers Zero.

American alternative-rock band Switchfoot also gave an electrifying performance.

Bassist Mohini Dey who performed her own set, Ape Echoes, The Yellow Bucket, Whale in the Pond, Ritviz Komorebi, Aarifah Rebello, Mali, and Morning Mourning also performed on the second day.

Local bands from northeast like The Pirates (Assam), The Twin Effect and Avancer (Nagaland), The Vinyl Records (Arunachal Pradesh), Dossers Urge, Sky Level (both from Meghalaya), Rain in Sahara (Assam), Takar Nabam Trio (Arunachal Pradesh), Tipriti Kharbangar and the Clansmen, Summersalt, adL x k.ly & The Other Soul Collective (all from Meghalaya) also performed in the festival.

The first day was headlined by the much awaited Finnish alt rock band Poets of the Fall apart from performances by guitar maestro Guthrie Govan who performed with Mohini Dey and Gino Banks, and Israeli psychedelic post-rock act Tiny Fingers.

Some of India’s most well-known acts like Dualist Inquiry, Scribe, Kumail (Live) and Sandunes Live, acoustic folk jam band Fiddler’s Green, singer-songwriter Mahesh Raghunandan, fusion act Shadow and Light, and vocalists Abhilash Choudhury and Aditi Ramesh also enthralled the audience with their performance.

Well known Assamese singer Zubeen Garg paid a tribute to Bhupen Hazarika.

The festival grounds saw people of all ages congregate to enjoy various performances. There was a market with all kinds of shops selling fashion accessories, souvenirs etc.

Various food stalls showcasing local cuisine was available at the venue. People from outside the region got to experience the yummy local food.

An offroading session at a special Thar Adventure Zone was created just outside the festival grounds in the proximity to the Thadlaskein Lake and the hilly region.
