The 10th Annual Fest of Girijananda Chowdhury Group of Institutes (Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology and Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science), Azara, Guwahati and a unit of Shrimanta Shankar Academy, ‘EUPHUISM 2018’ concluded successfully on February 16.

It was a gala event hugely participated by more than 5,000 students and spectators.

It was a forum of like-minded people to interact, share and discuss the latest happenings in management, technical and cultural fields.

The fest began with a half marathon on January 20 last, followed by various sports competitions and finally with a three day event from February 14 to 16.

Euphuism

This year the fest was organized with the theme ‘Eunonia’, meaning, ‘the way to a beautiful world’.

During these events, various activities were organized on this theme towards a beautiful world by creating beautiful mind, which included Flash Mobs, charity activities in old age home and orphanages.

During this event various sports and cultural activities were organized hugely participated by the students.

Besides, there were various inter colleges competitions held in photography, robotics, computer gaming, debate, quiz (Quizzard), Song (Suryatra), Dance (Cavosisto), handicraft, drama etc.

These events were widely participated by students from various institutes of the states and the region and judged by distinguished personalities in the respective fields.

The fest was inaugurated on February 14 by Nitumoni Saikia, editor-in-chief of Pratidin Times as chief guest along with a galaxy of other guests.

On the occasion, Saikia shared his memories as a student and inspired everyone to chase their dreams and be active in all activities besides the normal academics.

One of the major attractions of the February 15 programmes was ‘Glitters’, a glamorous and scintillating personality development competition which was followed by a cultural night of renowned singer Kumar Dhiraj who mesmerized the crowd with various melodious numbers.

The fest concluded on February 16 with a memorable performance by famous upcoming Bollywood sensation Siddartha Mahadevan who mesmerized the 5,000 plus crowd with his foot-tapping numbers.
