Here is good news for cinema lovers as the well-acclaimed Assamese feature film ‘Siraj’, which was directed by legendary artiste Dr Bhupen Hazarika, will be screened on Friday at Guwahati Press Club.
The screening will start on 3.30 pm.
Produced by Raman B Meheta in 1988, the movie has music by Dr Hazarika where another legendary singer Lata Mangeskar also lent her voice in a song.
The cast members included Nipan Goswami (in lead role), Mridula Barua, Purabi Sharma, Rupak Barua and others.
Earlier, the black & white version of the film was directed by Bishnu Rabha and Phani Sarma.
It was released in 1948, where Phani Sarma was featured as Siraj.
The music was composed by Bishnu Rabha.
The cast members included Phani Sarma, Mohini, Nishan and so on.
Actor Ajit Singha played the role of Rafique in ‘Siraj’ film in 1948.
