bengtol brass band

The Brass Band from Chirang district of Assam will perform at the Republic Day Parade in the national capital. The band members are all teenagers belonging to Bengtol Don Bosco School. They are also the first school band ever to perform at the Republic Day.

The Bodo band is hard at practice in the national capital for sometime now for their show during the Republic Day Parade. The band formed in 2016, consist 45 cadets. The band got recognition for the first time at the 2016 State Republic Day celebrations, where they managed to impress CM Sarbananda Sonowal.

The commendable thing about these children is they were once victims of Bodo insurgency. During 1990’s Bengtol witnessed militancy and ethnic violence.

10 ASEAN countries have confirmed their participation as Guests of Honour to commemorate 25 years of close ties with the Southeast Asian countries.
