The next and fifth edition of the beauty pageant, Miss Sikkim 2018, will be held in the first week of September.

While announcing this in Gangtok on Monday, the organizer of the pageant, Positude stated that this year the beauty pageant would have cancer awareness as its theme.

Interacting with media, the managing director of Positude, Bijay Subba informed that the audition for the pageant will be held at Burp Restaurant, Gangtok on June 2 and 3 next and intending single girls with a height of 5’4? and above from the age group of 17 to 26 years can register for the auditions.

The organizers also said that the registration fee has been kept very nominal so that participants from all the districts of the State can participate.

The organizers further informed that the forms will be available online at Positude’s official website and other social media and also offline, in various outlets, from May 3 next.

This year, the pageant will host 20 contestants from all four districts of Sikkim.

Even girls from outside the State who have stayed in Sikkim for three to four months and having valid residential certificate can register, the organizers have said.

Notably, Miss Sikkim winner Peden Ongmu Namgyal has made the State proud nationally and internationally. This year, Miss Sikkim contestant Parmila Chettri will be representing Sikkim in Miss India 2018.

Like previous occasions, this year’s pageant will be hosted by Anjalee Chettri while the official photographer is Akashdeep Gajmer.

The audition for the co-host will be held on May 13. The pageant will also host judges from Bollywood, Kollywood and Sikkim.

The contestants will be trained for 15 days on various aspects including speaking skills, personality development and grooming, added the organizers.
