Guwahati: Assam’s Guwahati-based film production company, Borluit Productions, has announced the release of their highly-acclaimed Assamese short film ‘Rong-The Colour’ on August 14 this year.
The short film has already made waves in the international film circuit, securing an impressive 11 official selections and winning eight prestigious awards at top film festivals worldwide.

Directed and edited by Nekib Ahmed, with a powerful story and screenplay by Anjan Kaushik Sharma, Rong-The Colour delves into profound themes and showcases the true colour of our country India.
The film stars an ensemble cast, including Ankur Baidya, Imran Hussain, Pritam Jyoti Das, Manisha Kashyap, Pinku Baishya, Tikendrajit Hazarika, Mousum Bora, Rekhamoni Saikia, Lakhipriya Saikia, Mahesh Kalita, Pallab Basumatary and Akashdeep Das.

Cinematographed by Manabjyoti Kalita, produced by Jekib Ahmed and a compelling background score by Debajit Brahma, the film is set to captivate audiences worldwide.
Rong-The Colour has been recognised for its exceptional storytelling, direction and cinematic excellence, receiving accolades from esteemed film festivals.
The film has won the ‘Best Short Film Award’ at the ‘Triloka International Filmfare Awards 2023’ and the ‘Special Jury Award’ at the ‘Kollywood International Film Festival 2023.’
It has also emerged as the winner at the ‘4th Indian International Short Film Festival Awards 2024,’ ‘Special Jury Award’ at the Rohip International Film Festival 2024, and ‘Best Indian Short Film’ at the ‘Indo Dubai International Film Festival 2024.’

Moreover, the short film also got “Honorable Mentions” at the ‘Indo-French International Film Festival 2023’ and ‘Greece International Film Festival 2024.’ It was also among the top 100 short films at the ‘Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival 2024.’
The film also received official selections at the ‘12th Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival 2023,’ ‘3rd Himachal Short Film Festival 2024’ and ‘Northeast International Documentary & Film Festival 2023.’
These awards highlight the film’s extraordinary impact and the filmmakers’ commitment to excellence in filmmaking. After a successful festival stint across the globe, Rong-The Colour will be screened for public viewing from August 14.
Notably, the first short film by Borluit Productions, ‘Akaax Bisari (Into the Sky),’ had received global acclaim bagging as many as eight international awards and several official selections.
