Preparations are underway for the 15th Adivasi Mahasabha at Aba Justin Lakra Khetra, Khokhabasti in Udalguri. The three-day programme will be held from January 18.
The event is being organized by the All Adivasi Students Association of Assam(AASAA) Central Committee in collaboration with Udalguri District Committee Tangla Anchalik and Harisinga Anchalik committee.

Some of the highlights of the event will be cultural performances, symposium, seminars, exhibitions etc. 3,000 delegates from all over the state will be present at the event, informed Joint Secretary of Reception Committee, Suresh
Lomga.
A-strong reception committee to this effect has swung into action with State Minister of PHE and Food and Civil Supply, Rihon Daimari as President, Pradeep Nag as Working President and Rajya Sabha MP Santiuse Kujur as Secretary.
The Mahasabha will focus on sustainable development of the Adivasi community, educational, political rights, land pattas, tea-garden and ST
issues of the community.
The mega event is to be held at an estimate of 80 lakhs and is expected to be attended by more than fifty thousand people. The final day open session will be attended by BTC Chief Hagrama Mahillary, Former Minister Paban Singh Ghatowar, Atuwa Munda among other noted personalities of Adivasi community.
