Tezpur University  (TU) observed its 25th foundation Day on Sunday. The University also inaugurated a year long   program from January 21 to January 21 2019  Silver Jubilee celebrations.

Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, Professor Madan  M  Sarma, hoisted the university flag amidst other dignitaries. In his welcome address, he highlighted the institution’s and student’s achievements over the years.

He stressed that, although the University has achieved good things there is still room for improvements.

Inaugurating the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, Professor Kishori Mohan Pathak, Founder Vice-Chancellor of the University thanked the contributors for the all round development of the University.

He appealed to the staff to work hard to achieve greater heights. He reiterated that excellence needed constant refinement.

Delivering the Silver Jubilee oration, Professor Amarjyoti Choudhury, former Vice-Chancellor, Gauhati University narrated the tale of Tezpur University, which was a detailed history of the 24 glorious years of existence of the University.

He emphasized on the evolution of the present work culture of the University whose foundation was laid by Professor KM Pathak who had conceived the idea of a digital university and worked tirelessly to translate that dream into reality.

Utpal Bora, CMD, OIL and Chief Guest of the occasion released the Silver Jubilee Celebrations Calender.  While delivering the Foundation Day lecture, he, praised the clean and green TU campus.

He emphasized the importance of industry-academia collaboration and mentioned that in line of Govt of India Start-up program, OIL is also running a Start-up program to encourage the entrepreneurs and requested the students to opt for the scheme.

Professor Choudhury and Mr. Bora later delivered the appreciation certificates to the faculty members and students for excelling in their respective fields. The event concluded with inauguration of the photo gallery, which exhibited the journey of  Tezpur University.
