Sabiha Sabnam of Paschim Magaldai High Madrassa school in Darrang district has secured third rank in the Assam High Madrassa (AHM) final examination, the results of which have been announced along with High School Leaving Certificate examination on Friday.
Born to marginal farmer Ekramul Hussain and his wife Runuwara Begum , Sabiha secured a total of 549 marks with letter marks in all the subjects.
Sabiha who had prepared hard by studying ten hours daily on average for the last few months told the media that she will now join the science stream in Higher Secondary to pursue Medical Science to become a successful doctor in future.
Meanwhile barring Sabiha no one could secure a position from Darrang in HSLC or AHM examination.
The overall performance of the district is relatively poor, as 6033 candidates were successful in HSLC examination, out of the total of 9125 candidateswho appeared.
The average pass percentage recorded in the district was 66.12 which came in the seventh position among the list of successful districts of the State.
On the other hand in AHM , out of the total 686 appearing candidates, 421 were declared successful with an average pass percentage of 61.37 and bagged the fourth place in the list of districts of the State.
