NIT Sikkim is facing acute water shortage at the campus for almost a week.
A senior NIT faculty member said that a vehicle was hired to bring water to the campus everyday but it has not been enough to meet with the daily water requirements of the institute.

The authorities of NIT Sikkim are scrambling to find a permanent solution to the problem and have also held talks with the state department to curb the problem.
They are also in constant talks with the students to find an immediate temporary solution to the problem.
NIT Sikkim was established in 2010 and has been operating under a temporary campus of 20 acres in Rabongla. Students are enrolled from various states with major preference given to students from Sikkim.
