The three-day mega event “Tech Fest 2019” under the theme “Naga Tech- Redefining ideas” organised by the Department of Technical Education began on Wednesday at IG Stadium in Kohima.
Students from the six polytechnic institutes are taking part in the festival, where they will be showcasing their ideas, innovations and inventions etc.
State higher & technical education minister Temjen Imna Along in his inaugural speech said, “We as students sometimes become quite narrow to study what is there in our books but today we have arrived, we would have to redefine our thinking and work hard towards that.”
He further said that the Naga Tech event would provide a platform to the polytechnic students to showcase their talents and help them in becoming leaders in the fields of technology.
“The need of your requirements should not suppress your learning if you dare to redefine your ideas you would find technology in the simplest of your surroundings,” the minister said.
He further urged the technical department to put more effort in creating platforms for the Naga students to showcase their traits and talents.
The three-day fest will witness various competitions like debate, gaming, web design, quiz, photography, robotics, cultural exposition, symposium and many more.
Prizes worth more than Rs. 3 lakh will be awarded to the winners.
The festival will continue till Friday.
