Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma exhorted the young people to channelise their energy in a constructive manner and contribute to the positive growth of the State and the country.
“As one of the youngest nations in the world, the strength of our nation lies in the hands of our youth. The onus is on all the young people to utilise this power and be a catalyst for positive change”, the Chief Minister said.
Stressing on the importance of entrepreneurship to push the economy forward, the Chief Minister urged the young graduates to be “job givers instead of job seekers” as creating job opportunities is a challenge for all governments.
“It is important that all young minds look towards entrepreneurship and start taking calculated risk,” he said.
The Chief Minister also spoke at length the need for greater collaboration between the Government and academic and research institutes for better policy making and greater innovation in the implementation of programs and projects of the government.
