Manipur education dept distributes appointment letters

A total of 327 appointment orders of government aided schools of Manipur were distributed on Wednesday.

The programme was held at the office premises of the Department of Education (Schools) located at Lamphelpat in Imphal.

The day’s distribution function was attended by education minister Thokchom Radheshyam along with the officials of the state Education department.

Speaking on the occasion Radheshyam stated that the total sanctioned post is 1687 whereas; the total number of vacancies is 387.

However, 327 appointment orders were given which includes 137 graduate teachers, 168 primary teachers, nine primary teachers (Hindi) and 13 as lower division clerk.

Appealing to the teachers to perform their duty diligently in the days to come and maintained cordial relation with the students, minister Radheshyam further said that the performance of the government aided schools is praiseworthy.

The teachers have performed their duty well in imparting education to the students.

He urged the teachers community to abstain themselves from filing case pertaining to promotion and strike which could delay in smooth functioning of the department.

He also suggested to conduct examinations for promotion for those eligible ones instead of promotion on seniority basis.

The function was attended by director Thokchom Kirankumar of Education department, senior officials of the department and other teachers.
