The IIM Shillong and Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaborative excellence in teaching and research.

They will also share resources to improve the quality of healthcare delivery system in the country.

IIM Shillong said the MoU reaffirms the partnership between the two organizations and builds on the previous engagements in conducting programmes for better and safer delivery of healthcare services.

“This MoU will leverage on each organization’s comparative advantage to support high quality and sustainable development outcomes through effective governance, state of the art infrastructure and access to a wide professional network across India and the neighbouring countries,” IIM Shillong tweeted.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Prof. DP Goyal, director, IIM Shillong, Dr. Jeet Patwari, Assam state representative of CAHO, Prof. Naliniprava Tripathy, Dean alumni & External Relations and Prof. Sanjeeb Kakoty, chairperson, CeDNER.

The primary objective of signing the MoU by IIM Shillong and CAHO is to work together in areas of long-term and short-term certification programmes and executive education programmes with a focus on healthcare management.

The MoU will enable both parties to share knowledge and expertise on the basis of mutuality in the field of healthcare management.

Further, this MoU will give an opportunity to assess the needs and skill gaps for groups.

In addition, it will also facilitate to jointly organise seminars, conferences and workshops on healthcare.

“The primary objective of this joint venture is to work towards improving the quality of healthcare delivery system in India and the neighbouring countries. It’s an honour for me to be part of the Core Team for this ambitious project,” said Dr. Jeet Patwari, Assam state representative of CAHO.

IIM Shillong was set up with a vision of expansion and mobilization of facilities for offering good quality management education and research in Northeast India.

The mission of the IIM Shillong was to generate and disseminate knowledge in all aspects of management education for sustainable development and to develop innovative leaders with strong ethical values.
