Guwahati boy Arindam Sarma has secured the second position in the country in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X board examinations, the results of which were declared on Monday.
The meritorious student brought laurels to his educational institution Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School with his outstanding result.
By securing a total mark of 498 out of 500, Arindam also brought accolades to the state of Assam.
A resident of Gopal Nagar area of Noonmati, Arindam is the son of Amitabh Sarma and Krishna Sarma.
Arindam scored 100 marks in Maths, Science, Social Science and Foundation of Information Technology.

He secured 99 out of 100 in English and Assamese.
This year, a total of 13 students secured the first position in the CBSE Class X board examination.
A total of 25 students secured the second position while 58 students got the third position.
The students and faculty members of Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School rejoiced at the brilliant result of Arindam and wished him success for the future.
The pass percentage in CBSE Class X examination 2019 was reported to be 91.10%.
The CBSE Class X examinations were held from February 2 to March 29. More than 18 lakh candidates appeared the examination.
